Clavering Tennis Club

LTA Affiliated Tennis Club

About

Located in the heart of the village of Clavering opposite the Cricket Field at the bottom of the Jubilee Field Recreational Area, the Club shares a clubhouse with the Bowls club. It was founded in 1977, and has two painted asphalt courts.
A little history :- A steering committee was formed in 1977 to oversee the fundraising and building of 2 courts, which opened in August 1979. In 1981 bushes were planted to form the hedges at each end of the courts and by 1984 the loans taken out to finance the building of the courts were fully repaid. In 1987 the clubhouse was completed in a joint venture with the Bowls club and in 1990 the courts were resurfaced to improve their quality.
