Dear Member,
I am writing to inform you of a unique opportunity the Lawn
Tennis Association (LTA) is providing to members of LTA affiliated clubs.
The LTA is
offering you FREE 2008 membership to British
Tennis, its new membership programme. To access this FREE 2008 membership,
please click here: http://www.lta.org.uk/Membership/MembershipReview
British Tennis membership includes a broad range of valuable benefits such as a player rating, membership card, advice from professional coaches and top players, an e-newsletter, special members-only website content, information on competitions and events, and you should have privileged entry to our club’s Wimbledon ticket ballot.
This
membership and benefits are only free to members of affiliated clubs such as
ours.
I have spoken to the LTA about the cost of membership subsequent to 2008 and they have confirmed that there will be a charge but this has not yet been fixed
The reasoning
behind this is the wish of the LTA to encourage individuals, as opposed
to clubs, to become part of British Tennis, so that, eventually, only
those individuals who have joined will be eligible to be put into the Wimbledon
Draw
Preferential
treatment for Wimbledon tickets will be given to those members who sign up. I
understand that eventually only personally affiliated LTA members will be
eligible to be in the Draw and even the Public Ballot will be abolished

Thank you,
SUE PERKS
Club Secretary
